Music lost a great Jazz musician with the passing of Dave Brubeck [1920-2012]. "Take Five" started off as an experiment in 5/4 time from his groundbreaking Time Out album which featured Jazz tunes in different times like 9/8, 6/4 and 3/4. Groundbreaking because Jazz at the time was predominantly done in 4/4 [4 beats per measure]. While panned by critics at the time Time Out became one of his most successful albums and "Take Five" one of his most recognizable songs.
