There comes a time when we all reach a point in our lives and come into our own. India.Arie has arrived and "Love & Politics" displays Arie's revelations. The CD is full of love, praising God and social concerns.

Arie's lyrics have depth and are motivational and inspirational. Her musical literature is perfectly placed over jazzy melodies, rhythmic piano and acoustic and electric guitars. India.Arie's style is similar to that of Tracy Chapman. Both artists have crafted the art of storytelling, folklore or in their case ballad lore.
Arie states "I'm expanding as a person," and considers herself a world music artist. This CD is a reflection of her growth as it exhibits Arie's vocal talents and her ability to cross genres.

Each track has its on feel "Therapy" is up tempo; "Better Way" has you wanting to nod your head in that rock kind of way. "The Cure" has a slight Indian sound. And tracks "Long Goodbye" and bonus track "A Beautiful Day" scream romantic comedy.

Although Arie dabbles in other genres solid tracks like the first single "Chocolate High" and ""Yellow" have that soulful, R&B groove we all love. Arie takes her journey with various artists like MC Lyte, Musiqsoulchild and Sezen Aksu. Arie even covers Sade's Pearls in collaboration with artist Dobet Gnahore.

The album is consistent in the fact that it has a diverse sample of music. A music lover will really appreciate this CD. Those that are at the stage of maturing, growing as adults or those who want to hear music that speaks to all of humanity will also appreciate this worldwide tour.
