Back with his third album, Anthony Hamilton sets out to prove "The Point of It All." Known for his southern sound he changes the dynamics by providing the listening audience with a few up tempo tracks as well as ballads. Hamilton performs love songs as we are use to hearing however the lyrics are happier. In an interview with the AP Hamilton states that he wasn't heartbroken when writing the songs for this album. He seems to be in a happy place and the album is proof. There are a few more upbeat tracks, however the album is still classic Anthony Hamilton and fans will be pleased.

The album begins with the track "The News" that speaks about community and today's society. The track has a Curtis Mayfield feel that includes a piano harmony. In fact many of the tracks on the album have piano and horn melodies that give it a vintage sound. In "Please Stay", he sings to a love to stay and the emotion is felt throughout the song that has rhythmic horns.

The first single "Cool" is a perfect representation of Hamilton's current state. "Cool" and "Fallin' in Love" both are about being in love and what develops out of relationships. If you are a fan of "Comin' Where I am From" the track "Soul's on Fire" has a similar sound. The production on the album is tight and that old sound of piano and horn harmonies are different from what is out there today.

Hamilton does a nice job with this album. His grownup music is a sound that we need. And it is nice to have an artist that performs what comes naturally. He is to music what Al Green and Isaac Hayes were to music in the 70's. If you want to listen to good music this album is worthy.
